How to Choose Indoor Lotion for Tanning
The very first thing you should know is that not all indoor lotion for tanning is the same. Each one will have different ingredients. A fancy bottle and clever name does not ensure the best quality indoor lotion for tanning.
You must first look at your own skin. Do you already have a tan but it is not quite as dark as you would like? On the other hand, do you still have that winter skin color?
It is always recommended that you should read the label and the instructions prior to using any indoor lotion for tanning. It should let you know if it was created for those that use tanning beds all the time or if it is for first time indoor tanners. Some indoor tanning lotions are made especially to enhance the tan that you have already received and not for receiving a fresh new tan. Indoor tanning lotions do not have any type of sunblock listed within their ingredients and some even have what is called sizzle, which can make your skin red. This condition may last up to several hours according to your skin and how long you stay in the tanning booth. The lotions with sizzle were created for use on the face more than other parts of your body. A matter of fact, when you begin to read the label on tanning products you will learn that several let you know exactly what part of the body they are intended to tan.
Some tanning lotions have cooling agents and are for use on the entire body. These types of indoor tanning creams and lotions give you a more comfortable experience as it does not get hot under the bulbs or lamps of the tanning booth.
If you tan all the time, then you probably already have a nice tan and you only want to preserve the tan you have while protecting your skin. The most important thing to remember is moisturizer. A moisturizer may not give your skin back the moisture it has lost during tanning but it will aid in making your tan last longer.
If this is your first time to visit a tanning salon, remember to take it slow. Your skin will appreciate tanning at a slower speed and your tan will look better if you achieve a base tan first. No matter what type of indoor tanning lotion you choose remember to start with only around 15 minutes of tanning per day for two or three times per week. Remember to moisturize your skin or purchase a tanning lotion that includes a moisturizer.
